Example Role-play (100 words min.): The letter had arrived. The one she had been waiting anxiously for, her letter from Hogwarts. Her parents sat across from her at the kitchen table talking excitedly about it, both their faces bright with joy, but Olympia had no idea what they were saying. She wasn’t listening; she was thinking, unable to take her eyes off the piece of parchment in her mother’s hand. The excitement she felt for leaving home and going away to learn was matched only by her fear that she wouldn’t live up to her parents’ expectations. They had for over a year been talking about her going to Hogwarts and all the great things she could do. They wanted her to be like them, and Olympia did not want to disappoint.

Overwhelmed by all that was going on Olympia stood up, and without her parents even noticing headed toward the door that led outside. Stepping outside she took a deep breath of the fresh air, filled with the scent of flowers and felt herself immediately relax. A smile spread across her face as she walked over to the big rock in the middle of her mother’s flower garden. On the rock right where she left it was the book she was currently reading. “Hello, friend,” she said as she picked up the book and opened it to the marked page. If ever there was a time she wanted to be someone else because it seemed easier, it was now.
