Regulus snickered as Morgan received points for her two correct answers. You don't want to play this game with me! He thought, as he clenched his jaw and heard Professor Slughorn explain the properties of the last potion. As he explained that it was different for everyone, Regulus went into thought. Different. Taste was different in many potions, it highly depended on the drinker. Not many potions had something different when it came to touch. And hearing much less. Maybe the odor was what was different. Wait just a minute. There was a love potion like that...

Regulus lifted his arm once more, determined to answer even if he was wrong. "Amortentia sir. The most powerful love potion in the world. Its smell is different to everyone who smells it. That same smell depends on what the person who smells it likes. That goes from drinks, food to even people themselves..." Regulus stated, placing his arm back on the table, and waiting to see if he was correct. Or not...

Kiara resigned herself to write notes on the potions mentioned just in case for future reference as Regulus and Morgan answered the questions. The thought of a the infamous love potion intrigued her though. She had always been curious about what she would smell and she leaned forward just a little for a closer look. She thought she could smell faint aroma of fresh winter air after a snow fall, the scent of wood, and a sweet smell of cinnamon. She smiled as her thoughts drifted back to yule ball the year before..

Luna makes notes on all the potions mentioned and she smiles as the aroma of blade metal, the smell of the air after the rain, old wood that reminded her of the Shrieking shack and she recognized Kronos' cologne. She grins to herself and writes it down on the bottom of her parchment. She looks back up and listens to write down more notes.

Azaria scribbled down notes as each of the questions were answered, not that she needed to. She knew most of the answers, but she still kept quiet. She had broken out of her shell the previous year, but her shy side was still a part of her. She looked over at Kiara and noticed that she wasn't paying much attention, so she kept the notes in case she needed to give them to Kiara later.

Professor Slughorn nodded and pointed at Regulus with a smile. "Another 5 points to Slytherin, very good Regulus. He is most certainly correct. This is Amortentia, and it does smell different to each and every person that smells it. It is said to smell like what attracts you the most. A most powerful love potion! However, just in case any of you are thinking about slipping some to your special someone, it does not create love, rather it give the infatuation of love. Creating love with a potion is, of course, impossible," he explained and ended with a chuckle.

"Now, this year we are going to focus on these three potions. They range in difficulty so everyone can have a chance to be challenged. For next class, be sure to be ready for some brewing! That is all for today. You are dismissed!" Professor Slughorn said as he brought the lesson to a close.

Regulus smirked, clearly happy because he had beaten Morgan in that little point competition. He swung his bag over his shoulder, winking at Vixen. "See ya later!" He said, as he walked off. Soon enough, he was followed by Lucius, whom took the time to wave at Severus, before he left the classroom as well.

Jocelyn had only been listening and writing down notes, When the Amortentia was explained she could smell Cian's cologne, it made her eyes watery but she quickly looked down on her notes and scribbled to prevent others from seeing her tears. When the professor announced they were going to focus on those three potions Jocelyn sighed softly. That was going to be a living hell, she was never good at potions and she always messed it up. Jocelyn hoped she could finish them in a good way and not embarass herself.

For once, Selena was relieved to finish potions early and hurriedly put away her material. Then she rushed over to Severus and slipped her arm around his, a warm smile on her face. "Hey Severus, how are you? You've been awefully quiet today." she chuckled and elbowed him slightly in the side while they left the classroom.

Luna sighs and packs up her things. She held her books close to her chest and walks to the front to smell the potion again. She sighs as comfort surrounded her. She gives a small smile to the Professor and walks out, rubbing her face. She walks to a calm place which confused Luna. Like hell, is there a place calm in this School!? She thinks to herself.

With a weary sigh, Severus pulled himself upright and stacked away his equipment. Just as he was about to head out of the room, his arm was taken by someone and he turned to look down to Selena. "Hi... I'm' fine, just a little tired." he told her and even mananged a slightly twitching smile.
Walking swiftly, they left the room and made their way out of the dungeons.

Caradoc did what he always did during potions class, kept his mouth shut and read his potions book taking notes as he did so. It was nothing new that he was horrible when it came to potions and the only reason he managed to pass this particular class was due to written exams. He understood the theory well, better that most students but was completely inadequate when it came to the practical.

Caradoc insisted that the books were not accurate enough while the professor and even his private tutors seemed to think it was something you were born with, a gift of sorts that made you good at stirring or anything potion related. Caradoc thought they were full of it and if the instructions were better explained he wouldn't have any problems in that subject either. So far, every book he read thought differently despite the potion being the same, he had read tons of books about potions and could recite the uses for the most obscure ingredients ever used but he couldn't for the life of him brew even the simplest of the potions without endangering the class with all sorts of poisonous fumes and explosions. Now, being on his fourth year, he'd given up on brewing all together and focused on the theoretical part, at least until he could drop this menace of a class altogether.
