Lost in the Books (Luna) Empty Lost in the Books (Luna)

Klaus had just opened the door to the library, and inhaled the scent of the fresh parchment paper on the librarian's desk, which he hadn't smelled a scent like that since he was home over the summer. But the thing that surprised him the most was the amount of books that were on the hundreds of bookshelves in front of him. He didn't hesitate when he went to the bookshelf that was near him. His light blue eyes scanned the books until they found something interesting. Klaus took the book of the shelf, being extra careful not to rip it, and sat at the nearest table to him, and read the first page.

"Afternoon, Ma'am," Luna chimed happily as she handedher recently checked out book to the librarian who gave a welcome nod in return. Before Luna to hurry away to find a new book, the librarian called her back over and handed her a book about dragons she thought the blonde might find interesting since she was one who often checked out the odder books in the library. Thanking the woman, Luna headed towards the tables to see what kind of treasured information might be found in the folds of this new book. Seeing a boy from her house and, if she wasn't mistaken, her year, Luna, wand holding her blonde hair in a messy bun, headed over to him. "Mind some company?" she asked with a small tilt of her head and a smile as she clutched the green leather book to her chest.

It took Klaus a moment to look up from the book and speak to the blonde girl who was in front of him. She seemed to be wearing the same blue and silver tie he was wearing so Klaus knew the were in the same house. However, he was not sure if she was in her year."I don't mind. Sit wherever you'd like."

Offering a friendly smile, Luna took the seat across from Klaus and sat, setting her book just so in front of her. Glancing at the cover of the book he was reading, she chimed, "You have a good choice in books. I'm Luna. What's your name?" Opening the leather cover of her book, she lightly set her hand to hold it open while she gently turned each page until she reached the first page of Chapter 1.

Klaus smiled back at Luna as she sat across from him. He continued to read his book, until Luna spoke again. He replied with,  "Thank you. You have a good taste of books also. Oh, my name is Klaus. Nice to meet you, Luna." Klaus had somehow got rid of the first year shyness, which was very strange to him, since he would never say that many words in the first greeting. He moved a strand of his dirty blonde hair out of his face so he can continue to read.

"Thank you. It's nice to meet you Klaus, too," Luna replied before reading the first few paragraphs of her book. Glancing back as the boy, her blue eyes took in his face and the way he brushed his air out of his line of sight to help in reading without obstruction. "You're a 3rd year, right? I think I remember sitting behind you in some classes," she asked, absentmindedly putting her hand to the cork on a chain around her neck and fiddling with it.

Klaus looked up at Luna, somehow forgetting that she was sitting across from him. "Yes, I'm a third year." Klaus finally knew what year Luna was in. They were in the sane year, so they would see each other often, which was good, since he was starting to like Luna. He gave her a polite smile as he read the first chapter of the book, thinking about the author and how he should read some more of his books.

Nodding, pleased that she remembered something about this boy from her house and classes, Luna returned to her own book. Several moments passed without a sound from her except for the pages of her books turning as she finished page after page of her book on dragons. Soon however, she paused when she noticed one of the pages was damaged slightly. "That's a shame. You'd think Nargles would have more respect for books like this one..." she said to herself with a small shake of her head as her fingers lightly touched the creased and torn edge of the page she had just finished on the Hungarian Horntail.

Klaus continued to read his book until he heard a word that he was not familiar with. Nargles. Even though he was a muggle-born and this was his first year of Care of Magical Creatures, he had read a bunch of CoMC books and Nargles were not a creature that were mentioned. "Nargles? What are those?" Klaus said as he looked at Luna, then continued to read his book.

Raising her bright eyes to the boy at his question, Luna was not at all surprised that he didn't know what she was talking about. Other then her father and those that she's told about then, really no one knew what they were. "Nargles are little creatures that are rather mischievous mischief makers. Ever find something to be missing and you know you put it someplace? Chances are, Nargles are the ones behind it..." she explained, a twinkle in her eye as she smiled.
