First Task!

[Amelia Grindelwald]

Cold wind was playing its own games as Amelia entered the coutyard and took her wand out, so she could prepare the place. With one single wave she put together wooden tribunes for all students, so they won't have to sit at the cold ground. After all, the task can last all night. Or at least long hours. Her next spell created four clouds. They looked ordinary for now, but in short time, they will turn into huge screen where everyone can see what is going on at battlefield.

Satisfied with her own work, she put on her smirk and went back to the tent for chapions, waiting for Kestral and Cian to come. She needed a word with them, before it all starts after all.

[Jocelyn Immorta]

Jocelyn walked up the to Transfiguration courtyard, there weren't much students so she could sit anywhere she wanted but she decided to go and sit by the other Slytherins. It was windy so Jocelyn pulled up her schoolcoat and walked over to a seat that was a little bit high but she wanted to see Luna clear. She should be so nervous, luckily Jocelyn hugged Luna and wished her good luck before she had to leave. She sat down and waited patiently for the other students to arrive and the first task to begin.

[Morana Gaunt]

Morana entered the place with Rabs. Barty was about to join them later and so was Morgan and hopefully also her sister. She imidiately saw Jocelyn sitting next to other their housemates, completely alone, so she grabbed Rabs' hand and sat to her with him. "Hello Jocelyn," she smiled at the girl nicely.

[Jocelyn Immorta]

Jocelyn snapped out of her daydream and looked up seeing Morana smiling at her and Rabastan coming closer and sitting with her. "Hello Morana and Rabastan." Jocelyn gave them a small smile.

Morgan made her way to the stands set up for viewing the first task. Inside she was nothing but worry for Luna and Sirius, but on the outside, she was the picture of calm. As she walked into the area, she spotted Morana and Rabastan already sitting in the stands. She smiled and walked to them. Before sitting, she kissed Rabastan on the cheek and then sat in front of him. "Hi, everyone," she said brightly. She then turned her dark eyes on Jocelyn. She remembered the girl from the day she took James to the Hospital Wing following his and Sirius' fight. Morgan held out a hand to her, "Sorry, we never got the change to formally meet. I'm Morgan, Morgan Prince. And, who might you be?"

[Jocelyn Immorta]

Jocelyn looked at the girl who came and sat down with them. "I'm Jocelyn Grimm, nice to meet you but i think we already met once." Jocelyn said to her wrapping her coat more around her.

"Jocelyn..." Morgan said thinking. "Yes, I believe we have. Forgive me for forgetting," she said gently smiling, her dark eyes glittering. The wind caught Mrogan's blonde hair, tossing it gently. She tucked it behind her ears and pulled her cloak a little tigher around her.

[Alora Fawley]

Alora walked with a few other Emperor students to the stands and filed into them. She was excited and worried at the same time for Cian. But, she knew he was strong and smart. If anyone would do well in this, it would be him...

[Cian Dawson]

Cian Dawson was escorted down to the Black Lake when it was time to begin the first task. There was a wooden dock set up to allow for easy access to the deeper part of the lake. Cian was instructed to stand on his podium and wait as he was introduced to those watching. As he stood and waited, Cian cracked his knuckles followed by his neck and a twist back and forth to crack his back. He was ready....

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present the Champion for Emperor House at WolfClaw Academy, Cian Dawson. His task will be to find an item at the bottom of the Black Lake being guarded by a mermaid. He is to retrieve said item and return it to his starting podium if he wishes to continue on to the next task. At the sounds of the cannon, Mr. Dawson, you may begin! Good luck to you!

As the announcer finished his introduction, Cian took a deep breath and waited for the cannon to sound. He had a game plan ready, and was ready to carry it out step by careful step. As the moments ticked by, Cian was the picture of calm. Suddenly, a single cannon blast signaled the start of his task.

Instead of doing as everyone thought he would, run and dive off the end of the dock, Cian calmly stepped off his podium and walked down the length of it. When he reached the end, he looked on all sides of the small peninsula, finally focusing on a point off the right front of the dock. He moved to that corner, and took a knee with one hand on the corner post and the other on his bent knee....

Kiara sat in the viewing stands of the first task watching it begin, she really wished she had been older so she could be able to contend but in time she hoped she could get her chance. This would be a learning experience she reasoned, even though she would never say it out loud. Fearing it sounded silly. She watched the Wolfclaw Champion begin and tilted her head. 'What is he doing?' She thought slightly confused. She leaned off the edge of her seat trying to get a better look.

[Jocelyn Immorta]

Jocelyn looked at the first champion and saw it was Cian, the boy who learned her to meditate, Jocelyn looked how he looked around and sat on the urge of her seat hoping he knew what he was doing.

[Luna Valkyrie]

Luna wrung her fingers and swallowed past the large lump in her throat, she slowly walked up to her podium waiting to be introduced. She wasn't ready but she acted like she was. Her nerves were going mental yet she looked calm and relaxed. She stands still looking at the forbidden forest with determination and a hint of fear in her electric blue eyes.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you our next champion. Luna Valkyrie from the house Hufflepuff in Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry! Luna shall be going into the forbidden forest where the item she must seek is guarded by an acromantula in it's cave. If she wishes to continue onto the next task, she must return to the podium with the item. When the cannon sounds, you may begin Ms. Valkyrie. May luck be on your side.

Luna gulps hard and nods. She spins on her heel and sprints into the forbidden forest with wand out when she hears the cannon. She climbed into a tree and hopped onto another one so she could see clearly where the cave is. She stays balenced and sees the acromantula's foot poking out the cave. She frowns and thinks of the best things to do. It was on it's own. No others. No colony. She gives a small smile despite herself and hops onto a different tree, closer to the cave. She remembers what she read about them. They love human flesh. She shakes her head and watches the creature with now midnight blue eyes. She holds her wand tight in her hands and thinks hard.

Sirius twirled his hair and pulled his collar, as he walked towards the podium, This is gonna be great. Sirius at first thought about everything, but deep down, he wasn't ready to go head on against such fierce opponent. Sirius turned his gaze, meeting the black lake. What awaited him there was no lake creature. No big octopus or anything. No mermaids. Something bigger, and something that horrified little kids. Sirius didn't feel scared. But his safety was threatened. A fire breathing monster was never an easy to get past by.

Gentlemen and Ladies, I present to you the next champion competing in the Tri-Wizard tournament. Sirius Black from the Gryffindor house in Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry! Sirius's task is probably the most troublesome, and might I say, arduous of the entire task. He will be facing a Hebridean Black, brought to us from the Hebridean islands in Scotland, by Antoine MacFusty. Sirius will have to face this dragon in the closure of the familiar black lake. The Hebridean Black will be free, and Sirius must survive and defeat this dragon.

Sirius looked down on the ground, and did a small nod. At least he had the water in the lake. If the dragon suddenly felt like spitting fire, something dragons were extremely fond of doing, Sirius would at least be safe of the fire. Sirius then turned to the lake, yet again, gazing at its monstrous size. He noticed Cian by the water, and did nothing but wait. Seemed like they were both doing the same. Sirius took his robe out, and showed his inner clothing. His champion shirt, red, with Gryffindor's emblem and his shield. He took his wand out, just in case the sneaky dragon would instantly throw a fire ball his way. But Sirius wasn't stupid. He knew what to do. And what strategy to follow. But he wasn't gonna show it just yet. The Dragon didn't know what he was getting himself into. Sirius was not gonna play around. Not even slightly.

Morgan watched anxiously as each cloud above them began to show the champions preparing for their tasks. Tucked inside her robe, where no one would see, was her badge showing her support of her champion of choice: Sirius. Each champion to face a creature and collect a treasure... Why a dragon? she thought, looking away momentarily. She might be begining to love Rabastan, but her heart still, in some form, belonged to him. Be safe, Sirius....

Morgan then turned her attention to the other clouds. Luna was already on the hunt for her creature, and Cian.... What is he doing?

Kiara turned her attention to the other two champions, most notably Luna from her own house. At least the girl took action and for that she clapped her hands cheered "Go Luna!" she didn't know the girl to well, But house pride and all right?

It was still a mystery to her what the other Champions planned on doing...

[Cian Dawson]

Cian heard the announcement for Sirius as he made his way to the end of the dock... So, a dragon... Good luck to you, mate....

As Cian looked in the water off the corner of the dock where he had taken a knee, a small grin touched his lips. It was now or never.... Cian took a deep breath, closing his eyes, and as he let it out, opened them. Then he began to sing, his Irish accent thick and heavy on the words he learned as a boy back home...

"Buachaill ón Eirne mé's bhréagfainn féin cailín deas óg,
Né iarfainn bó spré léithe tá mé saibhir go leor 'S liom
Corcaigh a mhéid e , dhá thaobh a ghleanna's Tír Eoghain
'S mur n-athraí mé béasaí 's mé n' t-oibhr ar Chontae
Mhaigh Eo..."

Before his eyes, a head broke through the surface of the water and looked at him with bright yellow eyes. Its skin was ashen grey and long green hair clung to the mermaid's head and then flowed freely in the water as only just below the shoulders was visible above the water's surface. Cian smiled, and bowed his head to the mermaid. He looked back at the creature and asked quietly, "I seek a treasure in the deep of the lake guarded by one of your own. In exchange for the music given as a token to you, will you show me the way?" Cian waited, not taking his brown eyes off the mermaid, for the creature's reply. He knew that mermaids couldn't speak above the water, but they were able to communicate. The creature watched Cian, eyeing him suspiciously. But, then nodded curtly and dove back under the water.

Cian stood, drew his wand and pointed it at himself. He muttered a spell, returned his wand to its holster on his shin, and dove into the lake after the mermaid...

[Luna Valkyrie]

Luna stood still for a long time whilst spinning the wand in her hand. She can't kill it but she could hurt it. She climbed down to another branch and she saw how big the Acromantula was. She closed her eyes and went down another one to see it sleeping. She frowned. What the fuck...This should be easy. It's fucking asleep! She climbs on top of the cave after putting a silencing spell on her feet. She see's a hole in the top of the cave and looks through it. She see's two more of it's legs and she gulps. She climbs down and looks around. She was so busy looking for her item she didn't hear the beast wake up and move closer to her. She tenses and turns around with wide eyes. She remembered that her book said they can talk.
"Another puny human coming to pester me whilst i sleep!? What do you want child? Tell me before i eat you.'' It says moving a little closer. She freezes and stands her ground. ''I'm in the tri wizard tournament, your greatness. I need an item that you are looking after. If you be so kind to tell me where it is, i shall leave you to sleep.'' Luna says seeing the hunger in the beast's eyes. ''How about i keep the little item and eat you!? I'm awfully hungry.'' It steps closer and stops in front of her. ''Wait. What did you call me?'' It asks and Luna smirks. ''Your greatness. You are quite high up in the Acromantula ranking are you not? You have to be if you're so large but you're alone so obviously something occurred in your colony.'' She says with a smile.

The acromantula taps it's foot on the floor, obviously thinking. Luna looked around to see a dead egg sack and something shining in it. Her eyes widen and the beast stops tapping. ''You are right...i was their queen and it was odd for me to...be so large. They kicked me out and i was sent here...i laid my eggs and once they were born, i lived for some reason. They left me to go to the colony. What must you do to get this item child? I shall let you do so but with a fight.'' Luna's eyes widen more but nods. ''It won't be much of a fight.'' She smirks and as the beast jumps closer, she jumps out the way. It spins around and hits Luna's side with it's leg so she hits a wall. She groans as she feels the sharp ends of the wall hit her back. She felt warm liquid come from her back. ''Fuck!'' She hears the beast mutter happily, smelling the blood and she growls. ''Colloshoo!'' It stuck the beasts feet to the floor but it could still reach over with it's pincers. ''Petrificus Totalus!'' It's whole body gets stuck in a bind and it stares at Luna with eyes full of anger and hunger. She rushes to the dead egg sack and see's the shining item. It's a pocket watch with a gold L. She smirks and feels satisfied that she has it. She looks for ways out and see's none but the one she came from. She climbs up the wall to hear a rustling noise. It's being freed. Her magic was weak from the pain in her back. She shakes her head and climbs a tree, holding back a scream as a branch touches her bleeding back. She hears a shout and the acromantula rushes out of the cave looking around. She keeps moving but touches her back, getting her hand covered in blood. She touches trees that was in the opposite direction to her to cause a false trail. It follows it and Luna runs into the clearing where her podium was. She sighs in relief but hears a crashing sound from behind her. Tree's were falling. The beast was angry but back in it's cave from what she can see. She runs to the podium and collapses on the floor holding the pocket watch in her bloody hand. ''Never fighting a fucking spider again.'' She laughs slightly and leans on the podium for some support.

Ladiessss and gentlemannnnn! It seems we have our first champion through. Lunaaa Valkyrie! Congratulations and good luck in the ne- the person stopped talking as he see's Luna fainted and that medics were rushing to her aid. They dragged her to the tent and healed her as fast as possible.

[Selena Snape]

Selena could already hear the masses of students and teachers before she even got close to the courtyard. She pulled her cloak around her and hurried up her steps not wanting to miss the first task. Looking around for an empty seat, she noticed that the first champion had already entered the stage, it was Luna, the young Hufflepuff girl and Selena winced when she was hit by the beast.
"Ouch, that must have hurt. I hope she's alright." she thought and sat down close by the back, not wanting to disturb anyone by making her way up front.

The whole time, while Luna was fighting the creature, Selena was very tense and instinctly had grabbed her wand tightly, as if ready for a fight herself.
Finally, the task was completed and she sighed in relief, which was short lived as the younger girl fainted right away and taken to be taken care of.
"I wonder who will be next." Selena thought, slowly beginning to enjoy the show.

Morgan smiled and clapped for Luna as she completed her task. At seeing her injured, Morgan wanted to go to her, but she knew Luna was in good hands with the medics attending her. But, she planned to go see her when the others finished.

At hearing Cian sing, Morgan's smile softened, "Such a wonderful voice..." she murmured to herself. She had heard from some of the Emperors that he was gifted in music, but she didn't know he was that gifted. As he dove into the water, Morgan held her own breath as if holding hers would help him. "What spell do you suppose he cast one himself?" she asked any of the others around her.

[Selena Snape]

Selena watched fascinated as the boy from Wolfclaw dived into the water after the mermaid. She leaned forward slightly to get a better look at what was happening and caught Morgan's question. "A bubblehead charm perhaps?" she answered, thinking that this would be the most obvious choice.
Though he might have also used some form of transfiguration she didn't know yet. "Or he's an animagus..." she wondered.

[Severus Snape]

After spending several days in the dark lord's company, Severus was finally allowed to return to the castle and continue his studies. His discussion with Marvolo and Regulus yesterday, had somewhat settled his mind about the whole affair with Black, but still not really in the mood for the turnament.
Nevertheless, he was asked to come by his head of house, so he made his way out into the curtyard where he slipped into a seat next to the back.

A voice next to him, sounded vaguely familiar and he turned to face Selena, a Gryffindor he had befriended the year before. Against his will, a small smile appeared on his face and he felt instantly more relaxed. Somehow with this girl he felt as if he could forget all the darkness in his life for a while. Unlike with the other girls in his life there was nothing that kept bothering him about her. With Lily it had been Potter, with Morgan and Marvolo it was Black, always something to tarnish his feelings for them, but this was different, though Severus was still reluctant to open up more to her.

"Hey Selena." he finally, spoke to her in a hushed tone, so he wouldn't draw attention to himself.

[Selena Snape]

Jumping slightly when someone spoke to her, Selena turned to her right where a Slytherin student had just sat down. "Severus!" she exclaimed happily and threw her arms around him. "Where have you been? I've been worried about you when you didn't turn up." she pulled back slightly and told him, lowering her voice a bit so she wouldn't disturb the others from watching.

"You just arrived for the first task. Luna made it out first, though she was a bit injured. And now a boy from Wolfclaw had to go into the water." Selena pointed to where Cian had stood a few minutes earlier.

[Severus Snape]

As always, Severus was surprised by her easy display of affection and it took him a few seconds to hug bring himself to her back. It was amazing how something as small as an embrace could brush away the horrors of the last days so easily, but it did and Severus felt almost reluctant to let her go again.

Yet, when they released each other, he looked at her with an awkward smile, he could hardly tell her that he was with the dark lord, brewing poisons for the past few days, testing them on innocent muggles. She would be disgusted with him. Hell! He himself had been feeling more and more disgusted with himself lately. He couldn't bear to lose her, so he would keep her in the dark as long as he could, hoping that nobody would tell her that he was a death eater.

"Sorry for making you worry, Selena, I just needed some time alone and away from everyone, you know?" he told her instead and then followed her lead to watch the turnament. That would give him some time to think of a better excuse.
"Luna? You mean the Hufflepuff?" Severus could remember her from last year.

[Selena Snape]

Selena had to hide her sigh when the older wizard huged her back. He always seemed so reluctant to show or accept physical affection, although he clearly needed it. She was happy though, that he hadn't pushed her away till now and Selena took that as a good sign.

She had heard rumours in the past days, of death eater meetings and the likes and many even thought that's where Severus and his friends went to when they left the castle. Selena wasn't stupid, not by far and she knew that the kind of people Severus hang out with were all deeply involved with the dark arts. Still, she knew that Severus didn't look down upon muggleborns like they did, otherwise she wouldn't even bother to befriend him.

Letting his answer go for now, she decided that their friendship wasn't yet strong enough to discuss such topics and instead turned back to the scene in front of them, happy that Severus at least was back here with her again. "Yes, Luna is a Hufflepuff and she had to fight an acromantula. It was quite dangerous, but I think she will be alright."

[Severus Snape]

Severus leaned back in his seat and watched the turnament unfold in front of his eyes. Beside himself, he couldn't help but feel impressed with the champions' skills.
He turned his head slightly to Selena "Who do you think will win?" he asked her, with a slight smirk. If he was already here then he could enjoy himself.
