Destined To Fall

[Marvolo Gaunt]

Marvolo left the castle for the night, running through the streets of london she dodged through passerby's and cars, just running. Her heart ached her legs throbbed and she hated herself with every move. She turned the corner down market street and collapsed to the ground, crying. Her heart hadn't felt so empty in a long long time, slidding against a wall she held her legs as she cried, then slowly pulling a knife from her boot she began to cut her wrist slicing the vein as she went. 

The tears came down faster and she held her head in her hands, she screamed for Morana. She had tried all summer to tell her she wasn't okay but her sister was so busy with barty..so busy. She tried to reach out to her but she didn't listen she felt so broken...

Her head began to feel light and her stomach sick as someone's footsteps broguth her attention. 

A witch screamed and pulled her into her arms, she felt her body being dragged them her vision faded to black. 

Waking up a few hours later she laid in a hospital bed her arms bandaged, she could feel sutures where  her arms were sewn shut. 

Looking around she slid from the bed and slipped into her cloak, grabbing her wand she snuck out of the room and ran down the hall before slamming into someone with full force.

It was Katrina's turn to check on the newest patient and they had asked her to bring her something to eat. Even thought she was a volunteer and thus didn't get paid, she didn't have a problem with anything they asked her to do. She was just nearing the room when a blur streaked around the cornor and crashed into her. The tray went crashing to the ground with a clatter and Katrina stumbled back. "Damn she murmured. She looked up to see a girl around her age. A concerned expression crossed her face. "Hey, are you okay?" She placed her hand on her shoulder. "You were going pretty fast, are you looking for someone?" Katrina hadn't yet noticed the wand in the girls hand or that she was coming from the exact direction she was going to.

[Marvolo Gaunt]

Marvolo rolled to her feet as quickly as possible "i-I'm fine no i was just leaving.."

The girl was clearly distressed. "Well," she shifted on her feet. "If there's something you need before you leave just ask one of the staff, I'm sure they'll help you." Katrina smiled at her and turned away to clean up the mess. Sighing, her wand slid out of her sleeve and she waved it at the mess. I'll bring her something else after I check on her. She continued her walk to the room and knocked on the door. "Marvolo," she called after checking the name on the plate. "I'm coming in." She opened the door and was greeted with an empty room. Instantly everythin clicked and Katrina whirled around quickly. "Damnit," she cursed as she ran back the way she came. The girl was just rounding the cornor when she got there. "Hey! Stop!" Katrina skid around the cornor after her.

Hearing her name called she pumped up the speed moving faster "Shit" she cursed as she skidded around another corner her foot slipped in watter and she tumbled down the stairs.

Katrina caught up just in time to see her tumble down the stairs. She panicked and pointed her wand at the stairs. "Glisseo," the stairs immediately flattened into an incline and she flicked her wrist at the floor, the cushioning charm taking effect. Marvolo rolled onto the newly enchanted floor. Katrina swiftly slid down, landing on her feet. Although she had saved her fom most of it, the girl had still banged herself against the stairs quite a bit. "I'm so sorry," she said kneeling down before her. She helped the girl to sit up against the wall and gently touched her forehead.

She looked at the girl bewildered "Who are you?"

[Guest]

A short burst of laughter left her. "Unbelievable, you fall down a flight of stairs after being chased and that's what you say." Katrina got to her feet and pulled the girl up with her. "I'm Katrina and I'm your caretaker for the day." A smile settled on her face. "Which means I'm taking you back to your room."

[Marvolo Gaunt]

Marvolo pulled her arm from the girl's grasp "Listen Katrina, I need to leave I can't be here"

Katrina raised her brow slightly taken aback. "Well I'm sorry but I really can't allow you to leave. You're injured and you're obviously not thinking straight." She twirled her wand in a small circle. "Either you stay and get treated or you contact an adult to come get you." She said firmly. It wasn't often that she had to deal with this but once in a whilst..."I have orders to stun a resisting patient if its for their own good and this," she gestured to the girl. "Qualifies."

Marvolo took a deep breath "you seem like a nice girl..i'm really sorry for this" turning she conjured six snakes with her wand and with a hissed command in parstlemouth she sent them at the girl, using the distraction she ran down the stairs and out the following hallway, pushing through the main entrance she broke through the door and skidding down the alleyway.

Her frown deepened as the girl spoke. Her surprise was barely able to register as strange sounds came from the girl and snakes were upon her. "Son of a bitch," she murmured as the girl got away. She dodged an oncoming strike and sighed sadly. "I'm so sorry about this, incendio" she raised her hand and a torrent of flames lit up the reptilian creatures. She quickly doused the flames, nothing but ash marks left on the ground. Her eyes narrowed as she gazed at the door that was left open. "I'm going to be in so much trouble for this," she said as she begin to shift. "But not as much as the shit she's going to be in." As soon as she dropped onto four paws the scent she had categorized from the room when she was still human, assaulted her senses. Lucky enough for her it was night and her golden spotted coat wouldn't be as detectable. Still, when she raced out of the hospital she kept to the shadows. She couldn't catch up as fast as she wanted to if she didn't want to get caught but it was fast enough. Katrina gathered her legs beneath her and jumped onto a fireescape, taking the rickety piece of metal to the roof. From her vantage point she was able to just catch that blur of black and a snarl so deep that it shouldn't have been heard by human ears, left her.

Marvolo caught site of a park, running into the tree line she finally tried to relax, sinking down to a sitting postiion she held her head in her hands, her head throbbing with pain and her heart beat going one beat to fast. "Fuck fuck fuck" she muttered

Katrina raced across the rooftops, following the figure below when she saw her falter and stumble into the park. Her anger diminished almost instantly and her concern for the injured girl returned. Soundlessly she dropped onto the ground, her body collecting the impact with little problem. She shifted mid-run, the girl didn't need to know. She slowed her pace and entered the trees. Not far to her left sat the Marvolo. She catiously stepped closer, hands out and crouched beside her. She could clearly see she was in pain. "Please stop running," she said softly. "I'm just trying to help you." She gently took one of her hands in her own to gab her attention. "Tell me where it hurts."

Tears began to spill down her cheeks "You can't take me back there you can't! just tell them my mom came and got me or something just don't take me back"

Katrina was at a complete loss for words as the girl broke down. She impusively pulled the girl into a hug. She didn't want to take her back when it so obviously upset her, but she couldn't just let her go when she was hurt so bad. She let Marvolo wet up her shirt, not letting on to her thoughts. She pushed away slightly so they could speak. She frowned slightly, "What do you have against the hospital," she asked not unkindly.

She let herself be hugged and tried to stop crying, finding the effort useless "I can't tell anyone" she hiccuped then pulled away a bit "I wont hurt myself again i promise"

"Is that what you were there for?" They hadn't told her. She grabbed the girl's arms and pushed up both sleeves almost agressively. The sight that greeted her was enough to make her tighten her hold. She let go the same instant and pulled her sleeves down without saying a word. She held her hands in hers for a moment before patting them and placing them back on the girl's lap. She took a deep breath and spoke her decision. "I'm going to get in so much trouble if they find out." A small grin lit up her face. "I won take you back, but!" She said halting any response, "You have to let me patch you up as best as I can first."

She felt her panic begin to calm and she nodded slowly, crossing her arms over her stomach she said "okay.."

[Guest]

She sobered almost instantly and placed her hand on her forehead. "It hurts here right?" She didn't wait for a response before spreading her hand and smiling softly at her. "Sorry about this," she closed her eyes and stabbed at the girls mind. She wasn't the most skilled in legilimency and her weakness was that she couldn't perform it at all without contact which in itself was strange but she was born as such. She used what her father taught her and begin to sooth the girl's mind. At the same time she grabbed her wand and muttered incantations to alleviate the physical pain in her head. When she was done a decent amount of sweat was gathered on her head and her breathing was a bit shallow but she hid it. She knew she shouldn't have, she was still training afterall but she wouldn't let the girl suffer. "Don't worry, I haven't touched your memories, you would have known." Marvolo should have been feeling more at ease now. "Sorry I can't do anything about that," she gestured to her arm.

She felt a soft warm sensation over come her as if water was trickling down her insides, she looked at her and smiled a little bit "thank you" she looked at her bandaged arm and nodded "thats okay...i'll be stuck with it but thats okay..the scars remind us the past is real"

"The emotional scars should be enough," she murmured for her ears alone. Katrina hauled Marvolo up with her and dusted herself off. "Well I better be going, I have a mess to clean up." She fidgeted slightly from one foot to the other. She was relunctant to leave. Although Marvolo had cost her great deal of work today, she had fun. It was the most excitement she had ever gotten in her boring life and now she had to go back to her daily routine. "Try to stay out of the hospital, we wouldn't a repeat," she smirked.

[Marvolo Gaunt]

She nodded "thank you.." she repeated before turning to walk away she said "can i see you again?"

[Guest]

"No problem." She scratched the back of her head shyly. "Oh um...I don't," she racked her brains. She wasn't sure where to go, let alone how to convince her father to let her go. "I don't go often but perhaps we can meet at the three broomsticks next week." She couldn't go sooner, that was her next shopping trip.

She nodded slowly "your like a guardian angel katrina...i'll see you at three broomsticks" turning she took off running heading towards the castle.
