Marcus arrived in the forest long before his little brother was due to join him. He came in the face he wore out in the world, and though he missed being himself part of him sought comfort in the mask. Loki curled around his shoulders, luxuriating in being back with his master, the python was a welcomed weight. He made his way to a clearing where the centaurs would normally train there young. It was the perfect grounds for training his brother, and it was protected.

"Thank you Firenze" he said to the old russet haired centaur, who had been at hogwarts longer then anyone else. "the stars foretold your request master gaunt, and we are happy to oblige with one of our allies, your Aunt was our friend and by proxy your mother." Marcus grasped the half man's forarm and thanked him again.

"One of our scouts have been sent to escort your brother here, when he comes to the forest" the old centaur said "here you are safe."

Theo wanted to be alone after classes, and since Carina was off who knew where, it wasn't really hard to get some desired privacy. The coin Marcus gave him, told him that their first training session would be today. He didn't tell anyone. Not even Carina or Deimos yet. Mostly because it was not safe to speak of his brother without risk of being overheard and so he simply decided to wait for a good and safe time. Crowley, his new snake, while growing quite fast, seemed to have a habit of staying tangled around his left arm.

It was strange that Centaur came to him out of nowhere and took him into the forrest, but Theo figured it was probably his brother's way of guiding him to the safe place for training and so he followed. "Marcus?" he asked, seeing a strange man in front of him. He remembered his brother's warning about wearing a different skin.

Marcus turned as his brother approached, before he could get any closer he said "What did i tell you about seeing someone who does not look like me" his tone was admonishing, all bussiness.

"You also said, that you won't always look like you," Ted replied. "Who else would send a centaur to get me?" he asked afterwards, but he knew that his brother was right. He wasn't cautious and if his brother ever ended up in Voldemort's hands, this mistake could easily cost them both their lives. "I am sorry, it won't happen again," he said afterwards.

"start over then" he instructed crossing his arms "security question."

"Name of Sophia's snake," Theo more said, than asked. Their sister rarely showed off Balthazar and even if she did, people did not know his name. Besides, it seemed exactly like a fact, that nobody would really look for, if Marcus was discovered and tortured for information. And while Ted knew this was his brother, he did release his wand from his sleeve. Not enough to show, but enough to jump into defense if needed. It seemed like a logical thing to do.

Marcus smiled with approval, "Balthazar, and he's a git" he winked "Ready to play little brother?" he walked over and gently convinced his brother''s baby snake off his arm and held him to loki, he hissed soothingly and the baby wrapped around the mature python and he let them hang from a tree, there jeweled eyes watching. "Your a 5th year so lets see what you've got. I know your curious, Mar told me you got into mum's old books so show me." he walked into the center of the center of the clearing "and i mean everything."

"Well, he is Sophia's," Ted shrugged as if that explained everything. "More, than ever," he replied to his brother with a smirk as he parted with his snake and watched the two pythons hang out together before turning his attention back to his brother. "We both know that mom's books are gibberish of a madwoman," Ted pointed out, knowing full well, that their mom had a habit of coming up with rather extreme methods. And torture techniques. He tried to learn elemental magic based on her notes, but it was not in his blood. Yet another reminder, that while everyone insisted he was, he actually wasn't a Gaunt. It was times like this, when Sophia understood his frustration more, than anyone else.

His brother wanted Ted to impress him, but Ted himself did not feel impressive at all. He was still underage and at Hogwarts, so he never touched unforgivable curses unlike Marcus or Sophia, who were taught by their father very early. He couldn't control any element, nor do wandless magic. There was really not much he could do. Probably except for two or three curses. With that said, he looked towards one of the trees. "Sectumsempra," he whispered, sending the curse towards the tree. Nothing really happened for a few seconds, before the tree fell apart, with one precise cut, splitting it perfectly in half.

Despite himself, Marcus' eyes widened as the tree fell to pieces "Gods." he cursed "if that had been a person they would have fallen to pieces...Mariya and I can only use it to wound not tear apart like that." he looked at the tree that lay in ruins and shook his head before turning back to the boy. "More. anything you know from the basics to the offensive show me what you can do theodre, your a slytherin so show off."

"Well, when you lack natural talents like elemental magic, parseltongue or wandless magic skills and you can't use unforgivables yet, you just have to find other means, I guess," Theo replied casually, but inside, he felt a bit better about himself. He never knew that something like this was considered good, while he did practice the curse tirelessly to make it perfect. He was quite a perfectionist after all.

Turning towards the tree, he used the same curse a few more times before levitating a few huge pieces of wood in the air, blasting them away with confirgo. Whatever was left of the once majestic tree, he burned down with simple, but focused incendio, making sure there was only a small black spot left and nothing else after him. But there was one more curse he knew quite well, as he practiced it often with Sophia. Turning around, he spotted a bird flying towards them, making it's way through the thick crown of the trees. "Petrificus totalus," he froze the creature before blowing it into pieces with reducto, before it could hit the ground.

"Good" Marcus grinned "Very good, Theodore, your problem is not lack of skill its lack of confidence, your so busy looking at your sisters, me, your cousins, and thinking your not good enough but you are. You stubborn decision to be seen as less then the rest of us is whats holding you back" he said passionately. "Had I been with you growing up i would have spent your childhood reminding you that you are better then everyone else. So much that it would be in your bones to the point when you would know in your way your better then even me." he winked before using a spell to clear the mess.

"Your gift is determination, that is also your weapon. now i want you to remember your anger, and hatred those dark ugly emotions you had when you heard i was alive. I want you to bring those to the forfront of your mind, focus on your rage your hatred, your jealousy and then i want you to cast the cruciatus curse on me." he slid his wand into its sheeth on his thigh and cracked his neck "I know you have it in you. Hurt me."

Ted did not believe his brother's words. He did not feel special or strong in any way. But he did not comment on them, choosing to rather focus on making them true. But he did not expect his brother to ask to torture him. Marcus Gaunt was indeed mad. Then again, his parents probably were a good sign it would happen. "You really are insane," he said finally, but chose not to argue with his brother.

Ted closed his eyes and tried to focus on negative feelings he had towards Marcus once he learnt he was still alive. "Crucio," he spoke the curse with determination in his voice, but he could tell that it was not working. He tried a few more times, but it did not change much. "You are my fucking brother, I can't just hate you enough for this," he said with a sigh.

Marcus raised his hand and the clearing they were in swelled and turned to utter darkness with a simple wandless spell. He stalked towards his brother, he felt the polyjuice potion fading but he didnt take out his flask. His hair turned black as the forest around them his eyes darker then even that, his smile was gone. He shoved Theo once then twice "What a joke" he hissed "your just looking for excuses." he shoved him again "I see it all over your face, those years you wanted to burn the pictures of me, how all you wanted was to erase me so our sisters wouldnt remidn you i ever did exist" he spat on the ground "Your pathetic theodore, pathetic. You dont even have the balls to show me you hate me to my face, but going around to your little friends is so easy, telling them your pissed off is so easy. I bet your glad I'm not at school with you, that pretty girlfriend of yours would choose me over you. Hell she's a bit young but maybe i should see if she likes me even more. Likes a true slytherin."

If Theo didn't know any better and didn't grow up in environment he did, he knew he would be frightened at least. But as Marcus began insulting him, he became more and more pissed. There was always the anger management issue, that people kept reminding him of. That that was not how proper Slytherin should be. And then there was Carina. Nobody was going to touch her. Theo did not even register what kind of spell he used to blast his brother of him, but he was seeing red. "Crucio!" he hissed angrily, this time feeling the pull on his wand much stronger as the curse took effect. He didn't know if it really worked as it was supposed to, but he really didn't care.

Marcus grit his teeth and grinned madly his muscles tensed with pain and the only sign the curse was working was the buldging veins his neck. "Come on boy you can do better then that, what do i have to do? Do i have to fuck her and make you watch? Make her scream my name? Or what if i tied you up and made you watch me rape her." he cackled "Poor baby brother cant even defend the girl he loves from the brother he dreams of killing at night."

"Don't you dare even think of her," Ted growled, breaking the curse for a short moment before sending another one towards his brother, putting all of his energy into it. Nobody was going to touch Carina. Ted made a promise. To both her and her brother. She was the only girl nobody was going to hurt. Not on his watch anyway.

Marcus laughed as the crucio came back with some force, blood began to drip from his nose. He pushed through the curse and grabbed theodore by the front of his shirt, his hands fisted in the fabric as the wand tip pressed into his chest. His heart beat was hammering now "I'll kill her slowly just for you theo" he said his voice soft like a lover's "First i'll strip her of her clothing, then i'll strip her of her skin, I'll make her scream and cry for you, and the best part is that you wont b able to save her, because you are nothing. you are weak."

"Never, you psychopath!" Theo growled again as he stared into his brothers eyes, storm of anger reflecting against Marcus' madness as he sent the curse towards him again and again and again. He could feel his power reaching limits, but he was too angry to stop. And deep inside, he began to realize, that he did not want to stop. It felt good.

Marcus held onto theo but as his power pushed into him the curse sent spasms through his body, finally he screamed. It had been so long since he had been truly tortured and he could feel pure malice coming from his baby brother. His hands jerked open and he slid to his knees, his back arched as the course of the spell turned his body rigid with agony. The whites of his eyes showed and the clearing returned, the moonlight shining on the brothers.

Finally he felt Theo reach his limit, and the curse broke. He could hear ragged panting coming from the other boy, the only sound in the silence before Marcus laughed, dark and manic and excitement. He slowly craned his neck to look at his brother. "See little brother?" he said "I told you."

Theo couldn't go on any longer. Which was probably good, because his brothers next words would otherwise probably send him over the edge again. "You are seriously insane. Who does something like this?" he asked finally, as he ran fingers through his hair, walking back and forth from one tree to another.

Marcus stood, the pain in his limbs was refreshing. "My father" he said "Barty loved to destroy me. he broke me when i couldn't do a spell. I had to suffer to learn. that wont always be the case with you but Theo, i showed you that you had the power. You hurt me. Me! You are more powerful then you know."

[Theodore Lupin]

"You threatened to rape my girl! Anybody would hurt you for that one," he pointed out, but chose not to comment of Marcus' father. He heard tales of Barty Crouch Jr. and they weren't nice. But Mariya never really spoke of him and neither did Sophia. Though she did have hard time moving on. Seemingly harder, than the twins. "But it did feel good," he admited after short silence.

Marcus walked over to Theo and stopped his pacing to make him look at him. "Its supposed to feel good. Hurting your enemies is supposed to fill you with a power and i know the more you saw yourself hurt me the stronger you became.

"You are not my enemy, though," Ted replied. "Besides, I need to be able to do this without Carina being threatened by rape, you know," he pointed out. "How do I channel my anger without actually getting pissed?" he asked, since anger was one thing Ted had the hardest time controling.

"You cast the spell" he said "you cast the spell and hurt me, something most wizards even the dark lord find difficult achieving. That is the first step, you managed to wield it on your first real go and I am so fucking proud of you" he ruffled the other boy's hair "we will work on that, I will show you. but now you know theodore, you can do it. you have that power."
