It Will Only Slip Once (Open)

Antares didn’t know when it was that she realised. It definitely wasn’t when she first saw a mudblood. She had been directly involved with that woman’s torture at the probably too young age of eight. It wasn’t when the blood traitors and their pets joined them at Hogwarts, either. She’d happily sneered her disgust at them, and lead their verbal torment. Maybe it was when she saw the ditzy blond Ravenclaw being taken by someone who’s reputation she knew well. She’d seen it, even before the Carrows had taken over at Hogwarts, and Lovegood did not deserve what she had coming to her after she disappeared. And maybe the mudbloods weren’t so bad either...

“Go away,” she growled to herself, lifting the bottle of sharp tasting liquid to her lips, taking a long draw from it before resting her head back against the tree. She’d been avoiding it since they’d first arrived, and now it was almost punching her in the face. And she couldn’t do anything about it. So, with pure willpower not helping her forget, she’d turned to the next best thing. She didn’t even care that she was out in the open, because the sky was becoming dark and she was sure that nobody had noticed her slip out during dinner. So she was free to enjoy the only thing that was objective enough to help even her.

Oliver had always known since he was young, he had always known that girls never looked as nice as boys. He had always known in the back of his head but had shoved it away. For his sister and for his parents but now that he had fallen for a boy, well things were different Oliver was still together with Antares but Oliver was falling for Vincent and the boy was falling hard.

Oliver sighed and pulled his hood over his head and walked down from his room to the grounds. It was nice outside and it blew his hair around, Oliver was wearing his glasses he hated wearing them but he didn't feel like putting his contacts in. So he walked outside wearing his glasses. He then saw a familiar head of blonde hair. Oliver walked closer then he was glowed at.

Laughing the hufflepuff took a seat. "This seat taken?" he asked laughing softly and took a seat leaning back on his arms.

Antares glanced up at the familiar voice, and said, "obviously it's not. Why did you even bother asking if you were going to sit no matter what I said? That makes no sense!" Her words were slurred slightly and she would have never been so rude if she wasn't so out of sorts. The alcohol didn't really help either. "What are you doing out here? You could end up with detention if a teacher sees you," she said, her eyes narrowed, "you look different. Did you get a hair cut?" If she was in the state to be observant, she would have instantly known it was because he wore glasses, unlike usual, but she was shamefully inebriated. "Why don't you go and find your boyfriend," she asked, her tone abrupt, "I'm sure he'd be more preferable company." Unfortunately, Antares wasn't sure it was possible to be intoxicated enough for her eyes not to widen in shock at what she had said. She knew, of course. She had the entire time, but she had never actually said anything about it to Oliver. She thought they would make great friends, but what made her want to be his girlfriend was his blood. To prove that purebloods were somehow better. She was using him, too. "I'm sorry..." she mumbled, reaching out to take his hand, "I didn't mean to be so rude about it."
